Hunter: Marine had right intent, Hillary Clinton did not
This is truly why you don't allow republicans to mess with the military and the country over ONE woman.
A Marine accused of mishandling classified information for warning troops in Afghanistan about the threat of an insider attack is being held to an “excessively high standard,” compared to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a prominent lawmaker argues.
Rep. Duncan Hunter is asking the Marine Corps to reconsider discharging Maj. Jason Brezler, who used his personal email account in 2012 to send a classified briefing document to an officer at a U.S. base in Afghanistan about an Afghan police chief, who had recently arrived at the base. Shortly afterward, a boy working as a servant for the police chief killed three Marines on the base.
Okay, so let me get this straight. Marine Major decides that he MUST break the law and use [higher than secret] emails and documents to warn about an insider threat, and write a book, and this equals a H. Clinton server that she used to read her emails as Secretary of State???
First off, Duncan - the MAJOR did not have the right to declassify ANY document for the purposes of writing a book. He certainly did not have the right to declassify his "red-line" emails, and he really, really broke UCMJ, of which H. Clinton did not.
Pesky facts, Duncan.
You see, Militarily, we have the UCMJ, and this Major broke an order written by a lot of people of higher rank than he. You don't get to decide which orders you follow or which orders that you can break - a legal order is a legal order. He was not advancing on a beach head or about to drop an H-bomb on civilians -- orders are orders, and the handling of classified material has a whole lot of orders that we should follow.
Follow the script, Maj Brezler: "Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die"
