Creating Links on NC Free Forum -- I makes it real easy

Post #1 by Bill Bryan » May 30th, 2013, 7:21 am

Here's the quick and easy way to create a link on this forum, that will be easily visible no matter which "board style" you're using.

  1. Write the text you want to show for the link.

  2. Place a comma immediately after the last character of your text (this can be a punctuation symbol if desired).

  3. Copy and paste the URL immediately after the comma WITH NO SPACE ON EITHER SIDE OF THE COMMA.

  4. Select the whole thing and click the "Link" button on the third row of BBCodes.

  5. You're done.

Example:

Is It Tuesday?,http://www.studentology.net/tuesday/

Don't make the comma red; I did that so you could see that there are NO SPACES ON EITHER SIDE OF THE COMMA. Some people have had trouble with that one in the past on other sites I run.

Now, highlight that and click the Link button and it will look like this:

Code: Select all

[link]Is It Tuesday?,http://www.studentology.net/tuesday/[/link]

Here's what it looks like when you post: [link]Is It Tuesday?,http://www.studentology.net/tuesday/[/link]

I like it!

Much simplier than the code I had been using... "[url=webstite]text[/url]"
