Home Brewing - Craft beer

Post #1 by Guest CommonTater » November 7th, 2013, 3:28 pm

I started home brewing several months ago and am having a ball with it. Still in the learning stages but have 4 batches under my belt now and they have all turned out quite well.

1. Pale Ale
2. Cream Ale
3. Hefeweizen
4. Saison

I think a lager is next. I bought a used refrigerator I put a controller on so I can do fermentation at lower temps and maintain good temps when it is hot! Bought the basic kit and have tweaked some of the components to better equipment. Kegging is the way to go I found out in a hurry!! My wife wants to know when the beer will actually be cheaper. :-k Nobody said a hobby was cheap!! Now if I could just make shine like my friends in Johnston Co.!!

Not home brew.... but Total wine has a new oatmeal stout from the Athens, Ga. brewery Terrapin. Sure to sell out quickly.

9.2% with rich coffee taste.

Oh my...... that and some NC Carriage House apple brandy..... :dazed:
